What should I be drinking?
Good afternoon everyone! Getting enough fluid has always been a hot topic in weight loss so I have written a post regarding my tips for preferred fluids.
Fueling your body with the right type of fluids is a vital part of your health. Water is so important! Our bodies cannot survive long without it. Mild dehydration can cause dry skin, headaches and fatigue. Therefore keeping yourself hydrated will help you feel healthier and more energized.
Lemon is a natural detoxifier for your system. I recommend starting each day with a wedge of lemon juice in 250mls of water on waking (warm if you can). Try and stick to water as your source of fluid during the day. As a rough guide you should have around 2 litres a day. Boost that up to 2.5 litres on the days you are exercising or in warmer weather conditions.
Coffee can cause adrenal fatigue which hampers weight loss efforts and leaves you feeling exhausted! Limit yourself to 1 cup a day or better yet none! Green Tea is a great substitute as it is full of antioxidants and is also a natural fat burner. Try chilling it over summer to make iced tea.
