Top 5 Weight Loss Tips!
Today I want to share with you my top 5 tips for weight loss:
- Eat more unprocessed foods. The best choices are located around the outside of the supermarket ie. fruit, veges, meat and fish.
- Reduce your sugar intake. Refined sugar is hidden in so many packaged foods. Often the packaging, branding or marketing leads you to believe you are making a healthy choice too. Refined sugar causes a spike in blood sugar and is basically empty calories without any other nutrients or minerals!
- Move more! My favourite! Exercise burns fat and increases endorphins released in your body. Endorphins are your happy hormones. It doesn’t matter how you workout. In fact its important you do something you enjoy so you are more likely to stick at it. Be aware! Exercise is the icing on the cake when it comes to losing weight. If you don’t change the way you eat you will not see the results you desire.
- Become calorie aware and watch your portion sizes. Get an app such as myfitnesspal and track how many calories you are eating. You don’t need to do this forever but it is good to know how energy dense your favourite foods are. - Treat yourself occasionally. Deprivation is not sustainable and its important that you still enjoy the foods you love on occasion. You will find the more you nourish your body with good food the less you want to eat foods that don’t make you feel good.
